Data Publication & Concept Models
Travertin is built on the Semantic Web and Linked Data technology stack, an open standard by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
Data maintained in archival information systems (AIS) can be converted to Linked Data by using Zazuko data conversion pipelines. We currently support EAD XML and proprietary CSV based exports, other formats can be integrated upon request.
Travertin supports multiple schemas, the default one is based on LOCAH EAD, models like CIDOC CRM, PREMIS Owl Ontology, the upcoming Records in Contexts or a mix of them can be integrated according to customer requirements.
Entity Extraction and Entity Linking
By using external reference data sets, finding the right record can be greatly improved. Zazuko can provide support in interlinking finding aids to well-known public reference data sets like VIAF, Wikidata, GND or others.
By converting your own curated data sets to Linked Data, other institutions can benefit from your work and link to them as well. This increases visibility of your data and generates more access to it.
Travertin can be run in the cloud, on hardware in your institution or a mix of it. We offer support for any of these models, please contact us for details and pricing.
